5th Annual Festival of International Virtual and Augmented Reality Stories Early Bird April 15th/Regular Deadline July 15th. The Festival of International Virtual and Augmented Reality Stories focuses on curating and exhibiting the best Virtual Reality (VR) & Augmented Reality (AR) narrative content in the world with the aim of exploring and nurturing this platform for new forms of storytelling.


NVR Residency Program NewImages – Kaohsiung Film Festival 2019 
Registrations are open until Friday 3 May 2019 at 11:59 pm GMT/UTC! Are you a young creator of immersive works? This year, the NewImages Festival and the Kaohsiung Film Festival open an exceptional residency in Taiwan. The goal is to help you create a VR experience (at least 5 minutes in length), for world premiere release no later than the 2021 Kaohsiung Film Festival. The creator of the selected project will win production funding, round trip tickets to Taiwan and a monthly stipend for their three month stay. 


Apply now for Opera Beyond – Deadline April 23rd at 23:59 (EET) Use your imagination, experience and knowledge to conjure up a ambitious immersive art concept for the theme “Memories of the Future” with the musical score created by world-renowned composer Esa-Pekka Salonen and story challenge by award-winning musical artist and dramaturge Paula Vesala. The winner will have their concept produced and exhibited in collaboration with the Finnish National Opera and Ballet.

Epic Megagrants Awards from Epic MegaGrants will range from $5,000 to $500,000 and will cover a wide variety of endeavors to further strengthen creativity and innovation within the 3D community. This includes projects built with Unreal Engine or developers enhancing open-source 3D content creation, whether or not it integrates with or relates to UE4. Submissions will be evaluated, and grants awarded, on a continual rolling basis as funds allow, with no firm deadlines to submit.


Ottawa International Animation Festival – Deadline for entry forms and film URLs: Friday, May 31st, 2019 There is no entry or registration fee. VR submissions can be presented either as a URL link to a streaming video play-through, or as a URL link to a VR build file. The link must be active until the end of July. Supported platforms are Oculus RiftHTC Vive, and Samsung Gear VR only.
